Chief Doug Huber is a fan of the initiative, which funds the Survivor and Welfare Fund.

The Verona Police Department is giving its support to the NJ Cop Shot Initiative, which discourages violence against law enforcement officers, according to the Verona-Cedar Grove Times.
The statewide initiative is a fundraising effort for the the Survivor and Welfare Fund, which now pays a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who has harmed a police officer. The reward has been paid out six times in the last three years, the article said.
Locally, Verona officers have promoted NJ Cop Shot, which Chief Doug Huber called "a good program," by placing bumper stickers on patrol vehicles.
