Verona's Newest Salon Opens Its Doors
Local officials attend ribbon cutting ceremony at Salon Alchemy on Bloomfield Avenue
When Salon Alchemy held its grand-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, it marked the beginning of a business transformation.
Salon owner Angela Sarracino, who has been doing bridal hair and makeup for nine years, said she likes the idea of constant change.
She has been setting up her new business at 514 Bloomfield Ave. since June and decided it was time to combine her skills and expand her business
“I love the idea of constantly expanding and changing,” she said. “In fact, that’s what the name means. Alchemy is the transformation of metal into gold, or creating something great out of something ordinary.”
Politicians and local business officials, who came to show their support for the new business, attended the grand opening.
Attendees included Verona Mayor Frank Spienza, Deputy Mayor Bob Manley and members of the Verona Chamber of Commerce, including president Steven Amadeo, executive secretary Joey Arminio and treasurer Ryan Mahoney.
“Verona is a tight-knit community,” said Amadeo. “We want the businesses to thrive. We are here to welcome them.”
