In Verona: Suspicious Photographer, Head Injury, Gas Pump Damage, DWI

5/22/2015

6:34 PM - Officer Erin McGarrity took a report of property damage from a Bloomfield avenue business. The business owner reported damage to the gas pump when a vehicle drove off with the nozzle still in the vehicle. Value of the damage is unknown at this time.

5/23/2015

9:43 AM - Officer John Lecreux took a report of a found cell phone from a Woodland Avenue resident. The owner of the phone was contacted and picked up his phone.

9:47 AM - Officer Bill Frazee took a report of a suspicious person from a Grove Avenue resident. The resident reported that he observed male taking pictures of a neighbor’s house. The male then got into his car and left the area. The officers checked the area for the vehicle with negative results.

5:52 PM - Officer Nielsen took a report of a found wallet in Verona Park. The owner was contacted and responded to police headquarters to pick up his property.

5:53 PM - Officer Justin Nielsen took a report of a found cell phone on Brookdale Court.

7 PM - Officer Joel Martin took a report of a theft from a Bloomfield Avenue business. The business owner reported that an item of clothing had been removed from an outdoor display by his store.

5/24/2015

11:59 PM - Officer Robert Juliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Bloomfield Avenue for an observed violation. Upon speaking with the operator the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. The operator was asked to step from the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests. After the tests the operator, Brendan Ducey was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters for processing. After processing he was picked up by a family member.

5/26/2015

10:48 AM - Officer Joe Ballantyne took a report of a fraud from a Gould Street resident. The resident reported when she received her credit card bill there were two charges that she did not make. She was in contact with the credit card company who canceled her card. She was provided with identity theft information.

5/27/2015

5:32 PM - Officer Thomas Conroy responded along with the Verona Rescue Squad to a report of an injured person on Bloomfield Avenue. After treatment for a head injury the victim was transported to East Orange General Hospital.

5/28/2015

11:50 AM - Officer Erin McGarrity took a report of a fraud from an Elmwood Road resident. The resident reported she sent a greeting card with a gift card in the mail to a friend. She reported that the friend received the greeting card but the gift card was missing. When she checked with the store it was reported that the gift card had been redeemed.

10:07 PM - Sgt. Wardrope took a report of found property at HB Whitehorne School Field. The owner was contacted to pick up her property.
