Wires Down Across Pompton Avenue

Traffic is being diverted on a portion of Pompton Avenue this afternoon after a fallen tree brought down telephone wires into the roadway. Police say the falling tree landed on a traveling car, but no injuries were reported.

Verona and Cedar Grove Police as well as Verona Fire Department, Verona Rescue Squad and Verona Public Works are all at the scene, where wires and broken bits of tree could be seen littering the roadway near Nassau Road.
