On Saturday, August 3rd from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00
p.m., The Historic Village at Allaire will be hosting the Eighth Annual
“Ducky Derby”! This year, there are
three ways to participate in the Ducky Derby!
This year’s “Ducky Derby” will have
more fun events so the entire family can participate and cheer for their
favorite duck. The Rain Date for this event will be Sunday, August 4th.
For
Corporate Sponsors and adults, there will be five heat races and the winners of
those five races will compete in the final winner’s race to see which duck will bring home the
grand prize of $500 in gift certificates.
There will also be a loser’s race, where the losers from each of the
five heats will compete for the biggest loser award. Ducks are available for adoption by calling
the Allaire Village office at 732-919-3500.
The cost of a duck is a $100 tax-deductible contribution to Allaire
Village Incorporated.
Allaire
Village Incorporated is a 501C3 non-profit corporation registered in the State
of New Jersey. All funds from this event
will benefit the educational and interpretive programs at Allaire Village
Incorporated. All entrants will receive
a certificate of authenticity, a letter stating that they have made a
tax-deductible contribution and after the race their very own duck that raced
in the competition (all ducks are plastic).

For
children, we have the “Ducky Splash”!

every child wins a prize and can keep their duck. For children ages 2 – 5 years, we have the
“Lucky Ducky”! Children can purchase,
for $3.00, the opportunity to ‘fish’ for a duck. Each duck has a prize and children can keep
their duck, too! What a great day of fun
for everyone!
This
will be a day of family fun with FREE face painting, games, and lots of “Ducky
Derby” fun (face painting subject to availability) The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. near
the Mill Pond. While at the “Ducky
Derby”, visitors are welcome to visit the various historic buildings in the
Village.
