Body Pulled From Monmouth County Lake ID'd As Ocean County Man, Authorities Say

The man's body was found Friday in Lake Como, Monmouth County officials said.

An Ocean County man has been identified as the person whose body was pulled from a Monmouth County lake on Friday, officials have announced.

The body of Justin Cook, 32, of Jackson, was located and recovered from Lake Como around noon on Friday, acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.

Cook had recently been staying with friends in Lake Como, said Charles Webster, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office. The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy that was to be performed Saturday morning, Webster said, but the death is not believed to be suspicious.

The investigation was handled by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lake Como Police Department.
Agencies assisting in the recovery and investigation include the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Lake Como Police Department, Spring Lake Police Department, Belmar First Aid Water Rescue Team, and Lake Como First Aid.
