Caregiver Canines® Bringing Therapy Dogs To Monmouth County
New program from Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey

8/26/19 (Freehold): Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey is pleased to announce the expansion of Caregiver Canines, their free in-home Visiting Therapy Dog Program into Monmouth County. After 10 years of brightening the lives of Ocean County residents, Caregiver Canines® is looking forward to bringing certified therapy dogs to the communities of Monmouth County. This unique program provides free in-home visits with volunteers and their trained therapy dogs to seniors who can no longer care for their own pet. It is also a wonderful boost to caregivers living with a loved one with dementia and creates a powerful connection to the past for those with this illness. According to Danielle Maley, Caregiver Canines Manager, “at a time in their lives when many older people and caregivers are feeling most vulnerable these one on one visits are a source of great comfort and connection.”
Caregiver Canines® is looking for volunteers and people to visit. If you own a therapy dog, would like more information on how to get your dog certified or if you, or someone you know would enjoy a visit from a therapy dog please contact Danielle at Caregiver Canines® at 732-505-2273 ext. 202 or email daniellem@caregivervolunteers.org.
