Coldwell Banker Hosts Fundraiser For Common Ground Grief Center

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is hosting a fundraiser for Common Ground Grief Center, a nonprofit organization that provides support to grieving children, teens, young adults and their families in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Coldwell Banker wants to help Common Ground complete an addition to its facility in Manasquan. This charitable evening is part of the statewide Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Day event.

The May 7 fundraiser at the Belmar Fishing Club will include hors d’oeuvers, a cash bar, a gift auction, music on the club’s pier by Joe Riccardello and music by the LayLow Jones Acoustic Band. The event program will feature artwork and writing created by kids who take part in Common Ground’s therapeutic activities. Tickets are $20 each, with checks written out to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares. Tickets can be purchased at the door, at the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office on 1122 3rd Ave. in Spring Lake, or by contacting event organizer Pam Farmer at (732) 513-4033.

Common Ground Grief Center provides “support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving a death can come together and share their experiences as they begin the journey through the grief process.” More than 145 children meet monthly at no cost, with 20 more on the wait list. Common Ground is expanding its home, a charming house with rooms that offer different ways for participants to express their feelings in age-appropriate ways, such as talking circles, music, art, sand-play, puppetry, gross motor activity and full-scale “play” hospital rooms.
