
WALL, NJ — A house fire was quickly contained Wednesday afternoon by Wall firefighters, a fire official said.
An alarm was transmitted shortly after 2 p.m. in District 3, the South Wall district, and firefighters responded to the alarm at 1607 Frazee Dr., Fire Chief John A. Sahatjian said.
A box alarm is a shared service agreement among Wall Fire District 1, 2 and 3 for any smoke or fire in a structure, he said.

Members arrived and found smoke and fire showing from the roof attic area and the crew of Engine 3 and volunteers from South Wall Fire Rescue quickly and aggressively stretched a line, found fire in the attic that extended from an exterior fire on the side of the home, he said.
The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire, he said.

Crews from Districts 1 and 2 assisted with overhaul and checked for extension throughout the house. The Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company provided a rapid intervention team.
The fire is under investigation by Wall Twp Fire Marshall’s Office and Wall Twp Police.
