Heavily Laden Trailer Causes Rollover Accident On Route 34: Wall Police

No one was injured in the accident, police said.

WALL, NJ — A Brick Township man received multiple traffic summonses after his motor vehicle and the trailer it was towing rolled over after he lost control on Route 34, Wall police said.

Martin Gonzalez, 51, of Brick, was driving a 1999 Ford Expedition and pulling a landscape-type trailer that was loaded with heavy stone north on Route 34 in the slow lane on Tuesday afternoon, Lt. Greg Carpino said.

The heavy weight on the trailer caused him to lose control of the vehicle near Broad Street, Carpino said, and Gonzalez swerved to the east and traveled off the road, then rolled into the wood line, coming to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle, he said.

Gonzalez, who was alone in the vehicle, was not injured, Carpino said. Traffic was reduced to the fast lane on Route 34 for about an hour while the scene was cleared, he said.

Wall Patrolman Orin McKay was the initial responder; Wall Police EMS and Glendola Fire Department assisted, Carpino said.
