Heavy Snow Collapses Inflatable Sports Dome In Monmouth County
The dome's collapse follows a historic blizzard in New Jersey that brought up to 30 inches of snow to some parts of the state.

WALL, NJ — An inflatable sports dome at GoodSports USA collapsed early this week due to severe weather conditions, the sports complex said.
In a news release sent to Patch, GoodSports officials said the bubble collapsed during the historic winter storm that passed through New Jersey late Sunday into Monday evening.
According to a report from News 12 New Jersey, the inflatable dome collapsed due to the weight of two feet of snow that was brought down on Wall Township.

Danny Pepe, co-owner of the complex, told News 12 reporters that he was standing next to the dome when it came down, and was outside trying to control the pressure.
Following the bubble's collapse, GoodSports officials said they worked closely with the Wall Township Police Department to secure the building and ensure that the area was safe. No injuries were reported.

"We are relieved to report that no injuries occurred, and the safety of our athletes, families, and staff remains our top priority," officials said. "At GoodSports USA, the safety and integrity of our facilities are paramount."
"We are now taking a careful and responsible approach by collaborating with experts and contractors to assess the necessary repairs or potential replacement, as well as the timeline for returning to full service."
As the sports complex works through this evaluation, GoodSports officials said all bubble programming will remain paused. Once a clear plan is in place, updates will be communicated directly by email to customers, officials said.
While the sports complex anticipates providing preliminary updates within the next few weeks, officials said it will also continue to share information as it becomes available.
For customers currently enrolled in programs held in the bubble, officials said to keep an eye out for emails from program directors with specific updates.
"We understand the importance of routine, practices, and events for your families, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we take the time needed to resolve the situation properly," officials said. "We would also like to recognize our dedicated staff, whose professionalism and preparedness ensured that the situation was handled calmly, responsibly, and with safety at the forefront."
"We thank you for your continued support and understanding," the sports complex told customers. "We truly value your participation in the GoodSports USA community and look forward to keeping you informed as we navigate the next steps."
The collapse of GoodSports' inflatable dome comes after a historic blizzard hit New Jersey late Sunday into Monday evening, bringing up to 30 inches of snow to some parts of the Garden State.
Though New Jersey is just starting to recover from the blizzard, more snow is in the forecast for the rest of this week, with up to three inches of snow predicted to fall overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, a “quick-moving system” will bring snow to the area early Wednesday morning (primarily for areas near and north of the I-78 corridor), with forecasters warning that there may be slick conditions during the morning commute.
"A clipper storm will track across the Great Lakes Tuesday and Wednesday, spreading a swath of snow from northern Minnesota into New England," AccuWeather said. "Farther south, including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City, snow can mix with rain as the storm moves through the region."
