Hour-By-Hour: More Snow On The Way (Sorry, We Know You're Tired Of It) And Rain For Wall

Here's updated information on what the forecasters are saying we'll see in Wall over the next 36 hours

The S word. We know you’re tired of hearing it. But over the next few hours we might get some more of it here in Wall.

It shouldn’t last, however.

The National Weather Service has a winter weather advisory in effect for the area until 1 a.m. Sunday, with snow this afternoon turning to freezing rain and sleet as the temperatures continue to rise. We could see as much as 5 inches of snow before the rain arrives. It is expected to take over late this evening and it could be heavy.

Temperatures -- which bottomed out at about 7 degrees below zero locally, according to state climatologist’s office early Saturday morning -- are rising rapidly, though it’s difficult to feel a difference because the wind is making it feel closer to zero. By midday tomorrow we could see a high temperature in the upper 40s and it should actually feel like it, as the wind dies down.

The rain is expected to taper off in the afternoon Sunday, just as temperatures start to fall again, into the 20s for Monday and to single digits by Tuesday morning.
