Man Charged With DWI In Wall Crash: Police
The crash brought down a utility pole that another driver hit, Wall police said; no one was injured.

WALL, NJ — A Beachwood man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after a his van hit a utility pole in Wall Township last week, police said.
Juan P. Arevalo, 48, of Beachwood, was behind the wheel of a 2010 Ford F350 van that went off West Hurley Pond Road near the Howell border and hit a utility pole, Wall Detective Lt. Greg Carpino said.
Carpino said Patrolman Corey Whitman responded to a report of the crash Dec. 21 shortly after 7 p.m. to find the utility pole struck and leaning into the road.

The on-scene investigation revealed that Arevalo was eastbound on West Hurley Pond Road when he lost control of the van and hit the pole before the van came to rest on the grass area off the road, Carpino said. A 2009 Jeep SUV driven by a 56-year-old woman from Bayville that was traveling west on West Hurley Pond Road and struck the arm of the downed pole, he said.
No one was injured in the crash, Carpino said.

The Glendola Fire Department responded as did Jersey Central Power & Light, which repaired the pole, he said.
Arevalo was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. He has a pending court date, Carpino said.
