ALLENHURST, NJ – A Monmouth County woman held police at bay for two hours last week in Allenhurst after stabbing her boyfriend and injuring herself, and is being held in jail, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

The apartment building was evacuated, as were nearby businesses, and police closed off the surrounding area with the assistance of Deal police and the Monmouth County Rapid Deployment Force. After a two-hour negotiation with officers from the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team, DiGeronimo was taken out of the apartment.

She was treated at the scene by the Allenhurst First Aid Squad and taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment of a self-inflicted, non-life threatening injury, Gramiccioni said.
