SCHOOL BRIEFS:
More than 100 students were recognized at the Board of Education's meeting Tuesday for their outstanding achievement on last year's statewide standardized tests.
There were 151 pupils in grades 3 through 12 who achieved perfect scores on their exams. Each was given a certificate from the district to honor their work.

"This is a phenomenal achievement,'' said schools Superintendent James Habel. "These students are exemplars for their peers.''

West Belmar Elementary School, 925 17th Ave., is scheduled to host a Blood drive from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21. to benefit the Central Jersey Blood Bank in Shrewsbury.
The class that recruits the most blood donors will win a pizza party, according to a flier announcing the event.

Allenwood School, 3301 Allenwood-Lakewood Rd., is scheduled to host its fifth annual Science Fair beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20. Exhibits will be shown from third, fourth and fifth-grade students at the event.

High school students are continuing their mid-term examinations, which began on Jan. 14. Pupils are scheduled for 1/2 days sessions through Friday.
