Old Mill School’s “Hugs for Houston” Fundraiser A Great Success

School News

Following the natural disaster in Texas, Old Mill School’s music teacher, Carol Swinchoski contacted the Old Mill faculty and together they created “Hugs for Houston”, reaching out to Clifton Middle School in Houston, Texas.

Joining forces with parents and students, the Old Mill School raised $1,047.80 as well as over 400 pounds of school supplies and more than 100 pounds of underwear, undershirts, and socks. Denise and Jeff Clayton, and the Dunphey-Smith Company of Manasquan, boxed and shipped all the clothing and school supplies to Clifton Middle School.

The “Hugs for Houston” fundraiser would not have been such a success without the enthusiasm and generosity of Old Mill School’s faculty, parents and students. A special thank you to Carol Swinchoski, Lisa Cavanaugh, Ingrid Butler, Lisa Ventrella, Tom Davellis, Denise & Jeff Clayton, Lauren Wilder and countless others who helped organize this humanitarian event.
