Fugitive Sex Offender Caught After Jump From 2nd-Story Motel Window: Wall Police
Breaking: The man was wanted in Florida on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, police said.

WALL, NJ — A convicted sex offender jumped out of a second-story window at a motel and tried to run when Wall Township police tried to arrest him on a warrant, police said.
Dontae Antwan Peterson, 29, was wanted on an extradition arrest warrant out of Tampa, Florida, where he lives, when Wall police arrested him Thursday, Detective Lt. Greg Carpino said.
Carpino said police went to the Budget Inn & Suites, 1909 Route 35, about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday to execute warrant, which was for failure of a sexual predator to follow registration procedures, he said.

After the officers announced themselves, Peterson jumped out the window and ran toward the area of Old Mill Road and Route 35, Carpino said. Police officers and a police tracking K9 responded, and Patrolman Vincent Reinecke saw Peterson running behind a building off Old Mill Road and took him into custody, he said.
Reinecke suffered a minor injury during the incident but was treated medically and released, Carpino said.
