Tractor-Trailer Overturns, Blocks Route 195 For 4 Hours: Wall Police

Breaking: The driver suffered minor injuries, police said.

WALL, NJ — A tractor-trailer with a full load of construction materials tipped over and blocked Route 195 on Tuesday afternoon, leaving the driver with minor injuries, Wall Township police said Wednesday.

The truck, a 2008 Freightliner, was pulling onto Route 195 west from the ramp at southbound Route 34 when the tractor trailer turned on its side and came to rest on Route 195, blocking both westbound lanes, Wall Detective Lt. Greg Carpino said.

The accident, which happened about 3:30 p.m., blocked the highway for about four hours, Carpino said, while the incident was investigated.

Carpino said the tractor trailer was fully loaded with construction materials.

The driver, a 46-year-old Hightstown man, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment by Wall Township Police EMS, Carpino said.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation, New Jersey State Police Incident Management, and the Glendola Fire Department all responded and assisted, Carpino said.

The accident remains under investigation.
