Wall Family's Dog Perishes As Fire Damages Home
The family was not home at the time, police said.

The cause of a fire that damaged a Wall Township home and killed a family’s pet dog remains under investigation, police said Monday.
Authorities were alerted to the fire on Leslie Street shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, according to Wall Police Lt. Pete Lokerson. The family was not home at the time of the fire, he said.
The Glendola, West Belmar and South Wall fire companies responded and extinguished the fire, and found the family’s dog dead in the residence, he said.

Also responding to the scene were Wall Township EMS, Tinton Falls Fire Company, Jersey Central Power & Light and NJ Natural Gas, he said.
Lokerson said the Wall Township Police Detective Bureau, Wall Township Fire Prevention and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
