Police Seek Man In Armed Robbery Of Exxon Station

The robbery occurred Sunday evening, police said

Wall Township police are searching for a white male in connenction with an armed robbery at the Exxon gas station on Route 35 Sunday evening.

Police Chief Robert L. Brice said the man, described as a white man, 5-foot-10 and wearing dark glasses and a hooded sweatshirt, threatened the station attendant with a knife and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash in the robbery, which occurred about 9:30 p.m.

The man ran from the station, at 1734 Route 35, on foot, and was last seen fleeing west toward 18th Avenue, Brice said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Detective Bureau at 732-449-4800. Anonymous tips can also be called into Monmouth County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-671-4400, text “MONMOUTH” and the tip to 274637 or emailed through the website. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminals.
