WALL TWP. AGREES TO HELP SHARK RIVER DREDGING

THANK YOU to the new Mayor George Newberry 2015 & current committee members for working with the surrounding towns and us.

This very important FIRST STEP to SAVE SHARK RIVER.

Wall Township will provide $315,000 toward the dredging of the Shark River navigation channels.

In addition to the $315,000 from Wall Township, the dredging project will be supported by $5 million from the state, $1.1 million from the county, $450,000 from Neptune, about $100,000 from Neptune City and a yet undetermined amount from Belmar and the federal government, (FEMA should being paying 1/3 of cost = 33,000 cubic yards from Sandy. Are they Congressman Smith?)

Wall now understands that it will benefit from the project for sports, recreation and other river-related activities.

Thanks for listening. Start a launch ramp for your residents to enjoy Kayaks, paddle boarding and a sailing program.

All towns must Stop the excessive mud dumping into the river

IF ALL the towns & POLITICIANS had worked together on this project and stopped with the misleading information WE the TAXPAYERS would have SAVED an estimated 3 MILLION DOLLARS! and this project would have started over 6 years ago.

The Marine Fisheries and the Army Corps said with the right POLITICAL SUPPORT & FUNDING (Kean,Rible,Singer,Beck,Arnone,Smith) more historical channels could be dredged for everyone’s benefit and of course an ongoing maintenance program.

This will also help with the river pollution after it rains.

OK WE GOT OUR START AND THANK YOU TO THOSE FEW WHO REALLY HELPED.

Shark River Cleanup Coalition, SRH Homeowners, Fisherman, local residents.

Neptune, Belmar, Neptune City, Monmouth County Freeholders, DEP, DOT, Wall.

Tom Arnone, Randy Bishop, Beck, Keady

(Why not ALL our politicians)

There is longer term planning needed to ensure the rivers health. No one is asking or expecting the whole river to be dredged.

Its time for the County to set up a River Commission to go after funding that has been available. Find the best long-term solution and get the politics out of it.

Thank you

John F. Dempsey
