Wall Woman Kicked Berkeley Officer During DWI Arrest, Spit On Three

Diana Quirk, 57, kicked officer Daniel Williams in the head and groin, police chief says.

A Wall Township woman is facing three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and drunk driving charges after a motor vehicle stop recently, Berkeley Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Williams was on duty at 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 22, along with Patrolman Ryan Wahl and Sgt. Jason Malley when they arrested Diana Quirk, 57, Oakwood Road, Wall, the chief said.

“During the arrest, Ms. Quirk struck Patrolman Williams in the head and kicked him in the groin area,” DiMichele said. ”She also spit on all three officers. She was subsequently arrested on three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer as well as driving while intoxicated.”

Quirk was later transported to Community Medical Center for an evaluation, the chief said.
