WEATHER ALERT: Snow Total Predictions Rising For Wall

We may have expected to see daffodils now, but winter is making one last grab for our attention.

The National Weather Service’s Mount Holly office has again upgraded its predictions for snowfall throughout Monmouth County. Wall, like the rest of the county, is now expected to see 4- to 6-inch accumulations by the end of the snowfall.

Area emergency management officials are warning motorists that the snowfall is making roads slick. Speed restrictions are in place on some highways, including portions of the Garden State Parkway. Snow accumulations will likely be less on heavily traveled roads, but could make a mess of secondary roads and those in residential developments.

The winter weather advisory has been extended to 10 p.m., with the snow slowing and tapering off and changing to rain and freezing rain overnight.

That could make road conditions particularly unsafe on Saturday morning, as temperatures hover around freezing.

The forecast continues to call for temperatures to rise into the low 50s by Saturday afternoon, however, so the snow may be short-lived.
