Zika 101 Townhall meeting

Zika Awareness Community Event

The Shrewsbury Board of Health, the Monmouth County Regional Health Commission and the Monmouth County Public Health Consortium invite residents to a Zika Awareness Town Hall meeting on Thursday, June 30 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Eastern Branch Monmouth County Library, 1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury, NJ.

Twenty cases of Zika virus infection have been confirmed in New Jersey, one in Monmouth County as of June 7th. All are related to travel from countries of ongoing transmission. No Zika virus transmission has been identified in New Jersey at this time.

Staff from the Monmouth County Regional Health Commission and the Monmouth County Mosquito Commission Advisory Board will provide an overview of the Zika virus as well as information on the mosquitoes.
