• Work To Restore Waretown Marsh Set To Begin (patch.com) — Parts of the Lighthouse Center in Waretown and the Upper Barnegat Wildlife Management Area will close weekdays from Oct. 5–23 while a major salt marsh restoration project is underway. State and conservation partners will reshape channels, add sediment, and rebuild shoreline to improve wildlife habitat and boost flood protection for nearby Waretown buildings and infrastructure. Visitors should expect weekday restrictions and obey posted closure signs.
