Autism Think Tank, NJ Annual Toy Drive

The Autism Think Tank, NJ is hosting their annual toy drive!

The Autism Think Tank, NJ is hosting their 6th annual toy drive and holiday celebration for local children with special needs and their families at the Bridgewater Sports Arena on Dec 22, 2017 from 3:30-5:30. Over 400 guests are expected to attend this event which is made possible by our generous donors and sponsors. For the second year in a row, the WHRHS Men’s Lacrosse team will spearhead the toy drive and be joined this year by the Women’s Lacrosse team. Thirty WHRHS lacrosse players are expected to attend the event to volunteer their time to help the kids ice skate, take pictures with Santa, and choose their favorite toys to take home!

Our community has embraced us once again to help make this celebration possible for the local families who face the daily struggles of raising children with special needs. We would like to thank Whitestone Associates Inc, CrossFit Chimney Rock, Northeast Power Dry, Hillsborough Rotary Club and the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Football and Cheer Teams for assisting with the toy Drive.

We appreciate the assistance of the UPS store at the Kings Shopping Center in Warren as well as the Warren Library for opening their doors to accept toy donations from the entire community. Individuals who would like to participate in the toy drive are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls ages 2-21 (gift cards are also appreciated) to either location until Dec 18, 2017.

The Autism Think Tank, NJ, is a 501(c)(3) (Non-profit) organization whose mission is to facilitate the medical and psychosocial stabilization of the child and family. Using videoconferencing technology, The Autism Think Tank brings together a team of world-renowned autism medical experts from Boston to Los Angeles to help individuals with medically complex autism. Families across the US and around the globe have access to our Think Tank team without the added stress and high costs associated with traveling to reach experienced doctors who understand how to recognize and treat the medical complexities of autism.

As part of our mission, The Autism Think Tank, NJ provides outreach activities for local families to enjoy together as a family unit in safe, sensory-friendly environments. For families living with autism, these events are cherished by parents who enjoy networking with each other while watching their children enjoy activities at their own pace. At our annual holiday celebration, some children will ice skate for the first time with the help of the WHRHS lacrosse players. Having no pressure to stand in line or wait their turn, some children will take pictures with Santa for their very first time! And for those kids too anxious to take sit and take a picture with Santa, they can find Santa and his elves ice skating with everyone!
