Come gather, practice and celebrate as a community with one of our apprentice Yoga Sutra for Life graduate yoga instructors. Community Yoga classes are being added to the roster at Studio Fitness, and are taught by instructors who have completed 200 hours of teaching with Ranjitha Sandeep through her Yoga Sutra for Life program, and have received a Yoga Alliance registered certification. They have a well-rounded foundation in the principles of asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting and yoga philosophy.
These donation-based, pay what you want classes are open to all levels, and are for anyone who wants to experience the health benefits of practicing yoga, regardless of age, fitness level or economic situation.
One of our first classes, with Danielle Mazzurco, will take place on Monday, March 7th at 7:30 p.m. Tanvi will teach a class on Saturday, March 26th at 2:45 p.m. Come practice yoga, and then stay for our free event at 4:00 p.m., "Behind the Pose: An Open Discussion Group Exploring the Deeper Side of Yoga" which will be facilitated by Lauren Vasquez. About Tanvi: Tanvi grew up in a small city called Jamnagar in Gujarat, India. Besides all of the healing practices like acupressure and acupuncture, Jamnagar also has the one and only Ayurvedic College and Hospital. Yoga was a very normal way of life for her. In the mornings, and whenever else that time permitted, she performed yoga, doing sun salutations in the twilights, and most of the kids could do budh padmasana (full locust pose), standing chakra asana, full wheel performed by standing. But she never took yoga seriously, until her cholesterol levels shot up with her second child. It was then that she started to practice yoga religiously. Within two months of daily practice, her cholesterol levels went down by 70 points, her backache vanished, and she gained strength. She has also been practicing meditation for over ten years, and uses the authentic form of yoga. Tanvi is a RYT 200-hour yoga instructor who has completed Level 1 Instructor Training with Yoga Sutra for Life. Her mission is to teach Yoga and Breathing techniques (Pranayamas) in its authentic form, as well as use current techniques to cater to her clients' needs. http://www.tanviyoga.com/
