Far Hills to Host Annual Spring Festival of the Arts - Public is Welcome

Far Hills, NJ – Far Hills hosts its annual Festival of the Arts on Wednesday, May 27th from 5-7:00PM on its campus located at 697 Mine Brook Road, Far Hills, NJ. This year’s theme is monsters with a student art exhibition full of friendly dragons, imaginative wild things and fantastical drawings created using paper, clay, computer graphics, pencils, pens, and paint.
Complementing the student exhibition will be a selection of alumni artists who will display and demonstrate their art for students, parents and Far Hills friends. The robust music program at Far Hills will be represented by performances throughout the Festival. Both students and faculty will perform at the event, including the student Jazz Band, performances by Music Conservatory students, music teacher extraordinaire Amy Burns, and professional musician and teacher, Gemma Keremedjiev.
Mrs. Burns comments, “This wonderful evening will include performances from students, faculty, and alumni, featuring vocal music, instrumental music, art, pottery, theater, and poetry. The arts are an integral part of our daily lives and are a wonderful instrument to ennoble the mind. The arts can connect, provoke, and inspire people, as well as bridge cultures, and are essential to the health and liveliness of our communities. This event highlights and showcases these facets in many beautiful ways.”

The Far Hills theatrical department will reprise highlights from the Upper School Musical, Once Upon a Mattress, and the Lower School Musical. According to Callie Shafto, teacher and theatrical instructor, “Our school celebrates the arts, all year long, every day. We are so fortunate to work in a community that recognizes the importance of arts education in children’s growth and development, and supports programming that allows students to grow artistically in both the performing arts and the visual arts in every class and in every grade.”
