Hurley Leads Warriors Over Ridge

Watching Hills bats come alive against Ridge in mercy-rule win.

The Warriors softball team bounced back from Monday's loss with a big win over Ridge in an abbreviated game.

The Warriors came out ready to play, scoring 4 runs in the first inning to jump into the lead.  Grace Hurley's pitching frustrated Ridge batters, limiting their opportunities to advance runners.

The Warriors also took advantage of every opportunity to advance runners, adding 11 runs to their tally in the third inning. Officials called the game under the mercy rule after the top of the fifth inning, putting the Warriors back on the winning track.

Grace Hurley—The senior pitcher threw well, and also keyed several scoring opportunities for the Warriors.

Other key performances: Meghan Kovac drove in three runs on a double; Brionna Paltan also hit a double, which gave McKayla Brady a scoring opportunity.
