Opening Reception for Members' Juried Exhibition at Watchung Arts Center
Opening reception on December 6. Exhibit runs through December 22. Free to the public
The Watchung Arts Center will host the opening of its December exhibits with a reception on December 6, from 1-4 PM. The reception and exhibits are free and open to the public.
From December 6 through December 22, the Center’s Heinz W. Otto Gallery will be displaying work created by the Arts Center’s members, in its 2015 Annual Members Juried Art Exhibition. In the Lower Galley, sculptor Vincent Kuhn will be presenting “Rusted Steel”. Mr Kuhn was the winner of the 2014 Members’ Juried Exhibition, and this year’s winner will be awarded a show in 2016.
The judge for the Members’ Exhibition is artist Wes Sherman. Wes Sherman has been painting since 1992; in that time he has had over 30 solo shows and included in numerous group shows across the county. He received his MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2003. He is an adjunct professor of studio arts and the chair of exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, New Jersey. Sherman has also been a visiting artist at many universities among them Temple, Rutgers, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. In 2011 he also received a fellowship for painting from New Jersey Council of the Arts.
The Watchung Arts Center, located at 18 Stirling Road in Watchung on the Watchung Circle, is a multi-disciplinary arts facility serving Watchung, the surrounding communities and the Tri-State Area.
