Plainfield Man Charged In Gunpoint Robbery In Warren

WARREN, NJ — A Plainfield man is the third and latest person to be charged in connection with the robbery of two people at gunpoint in Warren on July 29, authorities said.
Robert A. Kilpatrick, Jr., 27, of E. Front Street, in Plainfield was charged along with Quinton D. Parks, 30, of South Avenue, Plainfield, and Jose I. Lopez, 25, of W. Francis Street, Iselin. Read More: 2 Men Arrested In Gunpoint Robbery In Warren
On July 29 at about 1:38 a.m. two victims called 911 reporting an armed robbery in the area of Quail Run in Warren Township, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

The victims said they were robbed at gunpoint of cash by two men and gave police a description of the vehicle and of the men, Robertson said. The victims were not injured during the robbery.

A short time later, Dunellen Police saw the wanted vehicle driving in town. They stopped the vehicle and found Parks and Lopez inside.
A further investigation conducted by Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Warren Township Police found a third man was involved in the robbery, who was later identified as Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick was arrested on Aug. 27 at his residence in Plainfield without incident. Kilpatrick has been charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree possession of a firearm while committing a controlled dangerous substance(CDS) Offense, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree possession of CDS (marijuana over 1 ounce but less than 5 pounds) with the intent to distribute.
Kilpatrick was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
Quinton D. Parks and Jose I. Lopez were both previously charged on July 29 with first-degree robbery, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree possession of CDS (marijuana over 1 ounce but less than 5 pounds) with the intent to distribute.
Parks and Lopez were each taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
