Stone House Hotel Public Hearing Pushed To March

The Warren Township Board of Adjustment canceled its February meeting where an application for the venue on Stirling Road was to be heard.

WARREN, NJ — A public hearing about the proposed application to build a hotel on the grounds of the Stone House Restaurant in Warren is being pushed to March.

The Warren Township Board of Adjustment announced it is canceling its meeting on Monday, Feb. 7 because the board did "not receive revised plans for Maddy/Stonehouse yet," said Warren Land Use Coordinator Maryellen Vautin.

The next scheduled hearing date is tentatively Monday, March 7.

The applicant, Maddy Realty LLC, has since made some changes to the original application such as eliminating the parking garage, reducing the height of the hotel, and the hotel itself is moved further away from neighbors.

Maddy Realty is seeking two variances. One for use of the land for a hotel and the second for the height of the building.

The project has drawn some fire from residents in the area so much so that a Facebook group against the overdevelopment in the township was also formed as a result of this application. To learn more about the group click here.
