Warren Cub Scouts help clean up Hofheimer Grotto historic site

Warren Cub Scout Pack 182's Den 9 Hiked and cleaned up trash from the site of the historic Hofheimer Grotto.

Warren Cub Scout Pack 182’s Den 9 Wolf Scouts hiked to the The Hofheimer Grotto historic site enjoying the beautiful fall weather and performed a service project picking up trash at the site this past Sunday, November 27th. Six scouts and three adults spent an hour and collected 6 bags of trash.

The Hofheimer Grotto was once part of the 350 acre estate of Nathan Hofheimer, one of the original founders of General Motors. His mansion stood on the current site of Warren Township Hall. The Grotto is now on land owned by the Watchung Hills Elks, accessible via the Hofheimer Woods hiking trail behind the municipal baseball fields.
