Warren Cub Scouts Pack 182 - "COURTEOUS - Cubs in Shining Armor"

Warren Cub Scout Pack 182 held their monthly meeting on Tuesday November 29th at the Mount Horeb School. The topic for this month’s meeting was “Courteous – Cubs in Shining Armor” where the boys learned more about being courteous, one of the twelve tenets of the Scout Law.

Our special guest, Leo Sanchez of Impact Martial Arts in Warren Township explained the 5 tenets of Taekwondo: "courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit." He taught the Scouts some basic moves of Taekwondo including kicks and punches which they got to practice and then they enjoyed a demonstration which included participation by a few of our scouts who have been studying Taekwondo with Mr. Sanchez.

The second part of the Pack meeting included the distribution of earned Recognitions and Advancements, as well as Prizes earned by top selling Scouts during our annual Popcorn Fundraiser this fall.

Two scouts moved up in rank:

• Tyler Fu -- Den 6 (completed Bobcat requirements) - who will now join the rest of his den working on Webelos requirements
• Edward Walker -- Den 6 (completed Webelos requirements) - who will now be working on Webelos electives.

Our Popcorn Kernel Rosa Krause handed out all the awards that were earned by our Popcorn Sellers.

  • (2) Scouts sold > $750 -- in addition to lower-tier prizes, each earned prizes in the $750 tier, and also “Scoutbucks” that can be spent at Council Scout Shops.

  • 25 Scouts received a Popcorn sales patch from Patriots Path Council
  • 2 Scouts earned a free week at Summer Day Camp
  • 4 Scouts earned Scout Bucks good for spending at the Scout Shops in Cedar Knolls or Mountainside.
