Warren Middle School Girls Claim Basketball Title
Defeat Hillsborough to take Central Jersey Junior Basketball League championship.
The girls basketball team held on to a five-point lead through most of the final period to defeat the Hillsborough Middle School Raiders, 30-25.
"They came out a little flat, but made up for it in the second half," coach Laura Lamson said.
Lamson praised her team, which compiled a 17-1 record on its way to winning the Central Jersey league title and championship tournament, commenting on their good humor throughout the stresses of practices and games.

"They just have the skills," she said. "(At practices) They're laughing and staying loose and they keep that spirit in the games."
Lamson said all of the team's players got minutes in the regular games, building their skills and commaraderie.

The team's roster includes Myah Toubin, Allison Coffey, Nikki Lehner, Sam Spiller, Juliet Hurvich, Rachel Sena, Lindsey Carroll, Megan Lapioli, Emma Zucker, Melissa Marion, Brianna Torrisi, Kiera Vrindten, Dylan Lamson and Dani Kabat, who won the MVP trophy after Tuesday's championship game.
