Warriors Capture Babe Ruth District Title

On Sunday, the Watchung Hills Warriors 14U baseball team captured the Babe Ruth District 12 Championship, going undefeated in the tournament and besting Springfield 5-0 in the final game.

The Warriors, which are comprised of players from Long Hill Township and Warren and coached by Bob Roth with assistants John Lombardo, Ken Poggi and Glenn Mastrobattista, now head to the Babe Ruth State Tournament, which starts July 13 in Manalapan.

Warriors players include Jon Catania, Dan Roth, Tyler Lombardo, Eddie Poggi, Dylan Badger, Mark Ball, Matt Mastrobattista, David Giegerich, Ryan Weaver, Frank Rica and Amanda Grieco.
