Warriors Downed by Hunterdon Central 14-3
Girls lacrosse team struggles to find rhythm in second half.
The Watchung Hills Regional High School girls lacrosse team fell to Hunterdon Central High School at home on Wednesday evening, losing 14-3.

Watchung Hills fell behind the eight ball early, yielding the first 7 goals to Hunterdon Central. However, Watchung tightened up their defense, raised their transition game, and were able to connect for three straight goals, cutting the halftime deficit to a manageable 4 goals. However, the Devils came out of the gate quickly in the second half, putting home the next 7 goals en route to the victory. The Warriors had plenty of scoring chances for most of the game but were thwarted by the strong goaltending and defense of Hunterdon Central.

Warrior of the Game
Brianna Blake – The junior midfielder popped in the Warriors second goal to make it 7-2, off a net mouth scramble. Blake won several faceoffs as well as creating several scoring chances up front. Blake also back checked well, forcing Central to give up the ball numerous times.

Other key performances – Senior attackman Rachel Dobin got the scoring started for Watchung off a well set-up play in front of the Hunterdon Central net. Senior attackman Jordanna Gregorio put home the Warriors third goal on a semi-breakaway. Senior midfielder Jannia Gregorio added an assist.
