IN SHORT
The Warriors struggled against the Panthers, who are traditionally one of the best volleyball programs in the state. After a lopsided first match, the young Warriors showed signs of life in the second game and were able to get some good playing experience against a tough Bridgewater team.
WARRIOR OF THE GAME
Toy George—Five kills and two digs. The 5’6” outside hitter was one of the bright spots and will need to be the senior leader that his couch wants him to be for the Warriors to have success this season.
“He’s our go-to guy right now. We can set him front row or back row and he’s the guy we’re going to look for to carry us through this season.”—Head Coach Steve Fenton.
OTHER KEY PERFORMERS
Matt Todenkopf—Four kills and two aces.
Joe Walker—10 assists to go along with two digs.
THEY SAID IT
“We’re young and very inexperienced. The kids are very committed, and as long as they stay committed we’re going to stay on track. Volleyball is a difficult game to play correct. I’d rather play good volleyball against teams like Bridgewater and go through growing pains”—Fenton
