IN SHORT
The Warriors couldn't get anything going offensively, and only had two shots in the first half. Goalie John Margues played as well as he could with six saves before being relieved in the second half. The Warriors defense could not stop Bridgewater-Raritan’s Sal Vitello, who chipped them up for two goals and an assist.
WARRIOR OF THE GAME
John Margues-The goalie was the lone bright spot for Watchung Hills with his six saves that kept the Warriors in the game until the second half.
COACH’S TAKE
“We didn’t close out or pressure the ball fast enough, especially on defense. We didn’t push forward throughout the entire game. It’s tough for us because we played a double overtime game yesterday so a lot of our guys were running for 180 minutes over the last two days, but we’re not here to make excuses.”-Head Coach Greg Leonow
THEY SAID IT
“Their striker (Vitello) was able to create space up top for himself. He gave us some problems obviously as he had two really nice goals. He found a lot of space and had a lot of time on the ball. He was tough to stop today.”- Leonow
Up Next-vs. West Orange at 10 a.m. Saturday.
