Registration for the 2016 Watchung Hills Pop Warner Football and Cheer season is now open. Children ages 5-16 living in Warren, Watchung, Long Hill Township, and surrounding communities are eligible to participate. Teams are organized by strict age and weight requirements which ensures the safest environment possible. Practices begin in August and are held at the state-of-the-art WHPW complex located at 101 Old Stirling Road in Warren, across the street from the Middle School. All of the programs’ football and cheer coaches are Rutgers-certified and participate in numerous off-season coaching clinics.
The WHPW program has just completed a very successful 2015 season, with its two competitive cheer teams placing 1st and 2nd nationally at the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Competition held at Disney World last December. In addition, all of our football teams won conference championships and our Junior Pee Wee team (ages 9-11) competed in the Eastern Region Finals with the winner advancing to Disney for national play. WHPW enjoys a strong relationship and affiliation with the Watchung Hills Regional High School Football program and head Coach Mike Katz who is an avid supporter of the program.
Entering its 44th, year, the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Program is a non-profit youth organization and is organized under the Pop Warner Little Scholars Program which was established in 1929 and is the country’s longest tenured youth organization.
