Watchung Hills Teachers Paid Most In Somerset County
Warren teachers are the second highest paid, according to the state's information of the median salaries for the 2019-20 school year.
WARREN, NJ — Watchung Hills Regional School District teachers remain the highest paid in Somerset County, according to information released by the state for the 2019-20 school year.
The regional school district, which encompasses Warren, Watchung, Green Brook and Long Hills, pays teachers a median salary of $80,310. This is the highest median amount paid in Somerset County and 54th highest in the state.
Last year, the district also topped the list for having the highest median amount paid in Somerset County with an average of $79,270.

Warren Township teachers are the second highest paid in Somerset County with an average income of $79,925, which is 2.83 percent more than last year. Warren teachers also ranked the 57th highest paid in the state.
Watchung Hills and Warren teachers also make more than the state median of $68,985, a 1.6 percent increase over last year. Overall, 232 school districts make more than the state median.

The released information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending that was just released, showing the median salary in every New Jersey school district and charter school.

- Bedminster Twp, Somerset $69,045 -3.32% (231st in state)
- Branchburg Twp, Somerset $67,601 0.82% (263rd in state)
