Gymnastics team full of hope for the fall campaign
As the summer weather moves further and further away, that means fall sports are just getting started. We’ll take a look at the fall squads, previewing each team and checking in on how they’re doing so far this year. Today, we look at the Warriors gymnastics team.
Overview
The Warriors come into this season with a young team and are looking to take steps forward as a group under third-year head coach Tiffany North. She will be supported by first year assistant coaches Kyla Mendes and Sabrina Levy.
Last Season’s Results
The Warriors went 0-7-0 during the year but placed sixth in the Somerset County Championships and eighth in the Skyland Conference Championships. Six girls on the team qualified individually for the North II State Sectional Meet.

Anne Meringolo - Also a freshman, Meringolo has great potential to be a star. Both Meringolo and Paulsen are club gymnasts who train year round at Top Flight in Millington.
They’ll Miss
Sarah Murphy – Now attending Rowan University, Murphy, along with Nikole Mackie, was a “terrific example of a leader” according to North, despite not being a starter.
Nikole Mackie – Currently at Marymount College in Manhattan, North’s praise rang just the same, saying her and Murphy possessed “positive attitudes and showed great team spirit through their support of the team.”
Coach’s Take
“[Our goal is] to qualify for the North II State Sectional meet as a team and to stay healthy. We have lost many starters over the past two years due to unforeseen circumstances , such as injury. We have a young team with a lot of potential and with the leadership of Senior Captains, Jenna DiStefano and Kristina King, a love of gymnastics and the importance of team will continue to be instilled in these young ladies.” – Head Coach Tiffany North
