6 Arrested For Warrants, Shoplifting In Watchung

Six people were arrested last week for having outstanding warrants and shoplifting, according to the Watchung Police Blotter.

WATCHUNG, NJ — Six people were arrested last week for having outstanding warrants and shoplifting, according to the Watchung Police Blotter.

Watchung Police Blotter:

On Aug. 11 at 3:07 p.m.: Harold Kafka, 58, of Watchung surrendered himself on a warrant out of Fort Lee. He posted the full bail of $253 and was released.

On Aug. 14 at 2:01 a.m.: Jean Pierr Nole, 23, of Dunellen was arrested for having a warrant out of Bound Brook Municipal Court for $500 and Piscataway Municipal Court for $500 following a motor vehicle stop on Valley Road for not wearing his seat belt. He was released after posting full cash bail.

On Aug. 13 at 8:02 p.m.: Almajid Johnson, 22, of Newark was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 West for having two outstanding warrants out of Burlington Township Municipal Court for $500 and Newark Municipal Court for $500. He was released on his own recognizance and issued summonses for failure to inspect, unlicensed driver, driving while suspended and failure to exhibit driver's license. He was released with a court date.

On Aug. 10 at 2:34 p.m.: Nancy Vangiezen, 73, of Cranford was arrested for having a warrant out of Plainfield Municipal Court for $100. She was transported to Watchung Police Department and processed and released on her own recognizance by Plainfield.

On Aug. 10 at 5:09 p.m.: Ismael Ortiz, 25, of Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting a pair of Nike sneakers valued at $64.95. He was transported to Watchung Police Department and processed. He was transported to Piscataway Police on their active warrant.

On Aug. 10 at 2:16 a.m.: Charles Bray, 52, of Elizabeth was arrested at the Elizabeth Police Department on an active Watchung warrant for $500. He was transported to Somerset County Jail and given a court date.
