"The Watchung Borough Council voted on April 19 to neither repair nor rebuild the dilapidated Watchung Library, thus potentially bringing to an end to Watchung's proud 80-year history of providing library services in town for residents," the Coalition wrote.

Volunteers have been canvassing door to door and at an event two weeks ago in front of the library building where candidates for mayor and council were invited to meet library patrons to explain their positions on a library in Watchung. About 50 activists and more than 450 signatures have been gathered so far.
