Bikers Curse And Ride Through Watchung Walmart, Refuse To Leave: Police

The group of bicyclists were riding through the store and using profane language. One was arrested for Defiant Trespassing: blotter

WATCHUNG, NJ — A group of five bicyclists were riding through Walmart in Watchung causing a commotion before one was arrested, police reported.

The five bicyclists entered the store on New Year's Day, Jan. 1 around 10:02 p.m. and were riding through the store, using profane language and refusing to leave when asked by employees, police reported.

Police asked the group to leave the store, but Shakeerah Dunbar, 42, of Newark said she would not leave.

When warned she continued to refuse to leave. She was arrested for Defiant Trespassing and transported to headquarters where she was processed and releases on a summonses, police reported.

On Dec. 29 at 11:11 p.m.: Police stopped Akira Gaynor, 31, of Irvington for a cracked windshield on Route 22 West and having a suspended license. Gaynor also had several warrants out of South Orange for $500, Newark for $300 and Irvington for $129. She was transported to headquarters posted $129 bail and released on court dates.

On Dec. 31 at 2:30 a.m.: Muhammad Taufeeq, 36, of Newark was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East for being a suspended driver. Taufeeq also had a warrant out of Newark for $200. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on a court date.

On Jan. 1 at 12:56 a.m.: Sreya Mukherjee, 21, of Iselin was arrested for having a warrant out of Paterson and talking on a cell phone while driving following a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East. It was found her driver's license was also suspended. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released on a court date.

On Jan. 1 at 11:17 a.m.: Jamarion Wright, 37, of Dover was found sleeping in his car in the Watchung Square Mall. It was found he had an active warrant out of Dover for $2,000. He was transported to headquarters, processed and then picked up by Dover Police on their warrant.

On Jan. 2 at 1:03 p.m.: Johnathan Wrighten, 18, of Plainfield was arrested for Shoplifting from Walmart. He was observed hiding two items of men's clothing in his pants and under his jacket and trying to walk out of the store without paying. The total value was $33.97. Wrighten also had an warrant out of Highland Park for $500. He was transported to headquarters, processed and then picked up by Highland Park Police on their warrant.

On Jan. 2 at 2:09 a.m.: Justin Decoste, 25, of Basking Ridge was arrested for Driving Under the Influence following a traffic stop on Route 22 West for speeding. He was transported to headquarters, processed and charged with DUI and Speeding and then released with a court date.
