Polls Opened Tuesday: Where To Vote, Who's On The Ballot in Watchung, Green Brook

Contested race in Green Brook and county-wide contest is up for grabs.

Watchung/Green Brook, NJ -- Tuesday is Primary Day.

In Watchung there are two three-year seats up for grabs.

Republican William Nehls and George Sopko are running unopposed for the seats.

In Green Brook, four candidates are vying for two three-year seats.

Republicans Gerard Searfoss and James Benscoter are running against Democrats Michelle Previtera and Deborah Bort.

There are also two Somerset County positions up for grabs.

There are three candidates running for the Somerset County Sheriff's position - one three-year term.

Candidates include the current sheriff Frank Provenzano of Raritan, a Republican and two Democratic challengers Darrin Russo of Somerset and Alexander E. Clark of Somerset.

Three candidates are also vying for one three-year Freeholder position for Somerset County.

Republican Incumbent Patricia “Pat” Walsh of Green Brook is up against Democratic challengers Maria L. Rodriguez of Bridgewater and Lisa A. Kazmier of Manville.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In Watchung Township, here are the voting locations and district:

  • Districts 1 and 4: Fireman’s Exempt Hall
  • District  3: Bayberry School
  • Districts 2 and 5: Wilson Memorial Church

In Green Brook Township, here are the voting locations and district:

  • District 1, 3, 4, 6: Green Brook Middle School, Jefferson Ave. 
  • District 2, 5: Firehouse no. 2, Rock Road West
