Police Investigating Blaze At Villa Maria, Car Seen Speeding Away
Breaking: "A vehicle was seen leaving the complex at a high rate of speed just prior to the fire," North Plainfield Police reported.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Police are investigating a five-alarm fire that broke out at the Villa Maria in North Plainfield Tuesday morning.
"A vehicle was seen leaving the complex at a high rate of speed just prior to the fire and we are seeking any information on this vehicle or its occupants," North Plainfield Police Department posted.
Anyone with information related to the fire investigation is being asked to contact police by phone at 908-769-2937 or Tips@npmail.org. Information can be submitted anonymously as well.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at the abandoned building on Somerset Street. Multiple fire companies responded to help get the fire under control.
Watchung Police sent out an alert warning residents about the news helicopters flying over town and possible traffic delays as a result as well around 8 a.m. in the morning.

This is the second time in three months the building has caught on fire. A previous fire in July was investigated by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
