Green Brook Home Ransacked, Burglarized: Police
A West End Avenue homeowner reported someone pried open a rear door, entered the home and ransacked several rooms.

Green Brook, NJ - Several rooms of a Green Brook home were ransacked after a burglar pried open a rear door, Green Brook Police report.
The burglary was reported on Saturday June 18 at 11 p.m. to a home on West End Avenue.

On June 16 at 9:19 p.m.: Officers responded to Washington Rock Park to close the gates located at the entrance and exit to the area. Upon arrival, they noted several cars still located in the parking lot, and proceeded to walk through the park to locate the occupants.

While inspecting the park from the upper monument area, officers observed a male subject who had a clear plastic bag containing greenish brown vegetation suspected to be marijuana next to his leg. Officers also observed the subject use the greenish brown vegetation by rolling it in an empty blunt.
The vegetation field tested positive for Marijuana. Officers also found the subject to be in possession of a metal grinder.

Yasin J. Mayes, 21, of Elizabeth was arrested for Possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
