Green Brook Man Among 8 Reported Shoplifters: Police

Eight people reportedly shoplifted from Watchung businesses last week, including a Green Brook man and Warren woman: blotter

WATCHUNG, NJ — Eight people reportedly shoplifted from Watchung businesses last week. Five are still at large and three were arrested including Green Brook and Warren locals, according to the Watchung Police blotter.

On Aug. 23 at 12:42 p.m.: Corey Neil, 23, of Green Brook was arrested for shoplifting $56.99 worth of unpaid merchandise from Sears on Route 22 East.

On Aug. 26: Toys R Us on Route 22 West reported two males and a female entered the store on Aug. 18 and stole four video game consoles.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s, early 30s, wearing long shorts, a black shirt, black hat, glasses, a goatee and a pot belly.

The second suspect was described as a 5'8" Hispanic male in his early 20s wearing a black shirt, beige shorts with a mustache.

The third suspect was described as a 5'7" Hispanic female in her mid-20s with a thin build wearing a black shirt with the word "Believe" on the front in white letters.

A dollar amount for the video game systems was not available at this time.

On Aug. 22 at 11:40 a.m.: Kohl's on Route 22 West reported a male and a female shoplifter fled from the store with three video games valued at $107. A description of the actors was not available at this time.

On Aug. 26 at 12:24 p.m.: Kaylin Schunck, 28, of North Plainfield was arrested for shoplifting $84.43 worth of cosmetics from Stop & Shop on Route 22 West. Schunck hid the merchandise in her purse and tried to leave without paying. She was stopped by Loss Prevention.

On Aug. 26 at 4:51 p.m.: Nicole Paulk, 20, of Warren was arrested for shoplifting worth of candy, air freshners and condoms from Stop & Shop on Route 22 West. She hid the merchandise in her purse and tried to leave without paying. She was stopped by Loss Prevention and gave a fake name. She was charged with obstruction and shoplifting with a $500 bail.

Other Watchung Police blotter items:

On Aug. 25 at 5:32 p.m.: Toni Penn, 33, of Plainfield was arrested on an active Watchung warrant for $600. She was transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.

On Aug. 26 at 12:10 a.m.: Jonathan Reeder, 51, of Plainfield was arrested on an active warrant out of Newark for $250 following a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East and Terrill Road. He was stopped because his driver's side brake light was out. He was released after posting bail.

On Aug. 26 at 11:38 p.m.: Violeta Duenas, 23, of Kearny was arrested for having an active warrant out of Newark for $400 following a motor vehicle stop. She was released after posting bail and was issued a summonses for operating a vehicle when lamps are required.

On Aug. 25 at 2:19 a.m.: Jelisa Gernald-Touzalin, 26, of Plainfield was arrested for having an active warrant out of Bridgewater Township for $500 following a motor vehicle stop on Somerset Street. She was released after posting full cash bail.

On Aug. 24 at 10:01 a.m.: Mecca Rose, 26, of Plainfield was arrested for having an outstanding warrant out of North Plainfield Municipal Court for $500, Plainfield Municipal Court for $500 and South Plainfield for $239 and $139.99. She was transported to North Plainfield Police Department.

On Aug. 23 at 3:15 p.m.: Konstanti Pazas, 35, of Union was arrested for having an outstanding warrant out of Union for $500. He was also issued a summonses for having an unregistered vehicle.
