Heavy Traffic Delays Expected, Washington Avenue Closed

Washington Avenue in Green Brook was closed Monday and will remain that way for 3 weeks. Heavy traffic delays are expected in the area

Green Brook, NJ -- Construction has begun on Washington Avenue Monday in Green Brook and with that you should expect heavy traffic delays in and around the area.

The road was closed at 6 a.m. Monday morning to all traffic and remain that way for three weeks due to emergency sewer repairs in Dunellen, police announced.

It will be closed at the Dunellen border through Friday, June 3.

As a result, traffic travelling south on Washington Avenue from Route 22 will be detoured onto Greenbrook Road towards Rock Avenue, police reported.

Drivers are urged to use alternate routes during this construction, including Rock Avenue and Warrenville Road.
